Discover Henry Moore
Henry Spencer Moore (1898-1986) was one of the most important and influential British artists of the twentieth century.
Moore produced more than 10,000 artworks, including sculptures, drawings, tapestries and textiles. He became best-known for his semi-abstract, monumental bronzes which can be seen all over the world.

We seek to support, generate and disseminate research on Henry Moore and sculpture in general.
We do this by welcoming self-led researchers to our two venues in Leeds and Hertfordshire, through formal research opportunities, by hosting talks and conferences, and by engaging in collaborative research activities with a range of partners.

The Henry Moore Institute’s sculpture research programme places sculpture at the centre of current art historical scholarship and actively encourages new research.

We welcome schools, colleges and community groups for free guided visits to explore our exhibitions and research library at the Henry Moore Institute.
Art Encounters
Art Encounters is a new series of free short films for schools with accompanying resources, supporting teachers and learners to think about art.
Educational visits in Hertfordshire
We offer free guided tours of Henry Moore Studios & Gardens to school, college and university groups, suitable from Year 3 upwards.
Outreach & engagement
We partner with charities, arts organisations and communities to deliver sculpture activities, and develop collaborative projects linked to our exhibitions.
Get involved
As a registered charity, one of our aims is to advance the appreciation and study of sculpture. We do this in many ways, from funding exhibitions through our grants programme, to offering fellowships for researchers to develop their work.
Grants
Henry Moore Grants support the growth and development of sculpture across historical, modern and contemporary registers.
We welcome applications for support of exhibitions, research, conservation and much more.
Research fellowships
Each year our fellowship programme enables artists and researchers to develop their work.
Fellowships allow researchers to spend a month using our facilities in Leeds, and include accommodation, travel and subsistence expenses.
