Opening times
Our 2022 visitor season runs from 1 April to 30 October.
We are open Wednesday to Sunday and Bank Holidays, 11:00–17:00.
Are all of the studios open each day?
Yes, all of the studios are open each day during our visitor season.
The Aisled Barn, where Henry Moore’s unique tapestries are displayed, is sometimes closed for private events.
Can I visit the Henry Moore Archive?
Yes, the archive is open to everyone with an interest in Henry Moore.
The archive is open by appointment at no additional charge, Monday to Friday, 10:00-16:30.
Tickets and booking
How much are tickets?
Adult: £16.00
Child: £8.50
(aged 5 to 18, under 5s are free)
Concession: £14.50
(Over 65, Under 25, student, Universal Credit)
Family, one adult: £29.00
Family, two adults: £45.00
(Includes up to three children)
Do I need to book in advance?
No, you’re able to buy tickets on the day of your visit from the ticket desk in our visitor centre.
If you prefer to plan ahead you can book online via our Art Tickets page. By booking online you will save 5% on your tickets.
Can I visit as part of a group?
We offer a discounted group ticket for groups of ten or more, which includes a guided tour, if you book in advance.
We also offer free guided tours for schools, colleges and universities, and have been piloting relaxed visits with community support groups.
Do you offer any discounts?
We are part of the Art Fund’s National Art Pass scheme and offer a 25% discount to Art Pass members.
You can claim this discount both online and at the ticket desk. Please bring your Art Pass with you when you visit.
Do you accept National Trust or English Heritage cards?
No, we don’t. We are an independent charity and are not part of either scheme.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash payments, Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards.
We are unable to accept American Express.
Hoglands, the Moore’s family home
When is Hoglands open?
Hoglands is open Wednesday to Sunday during our visitor season.
We run tours of Hoglands every half hour between 11:30 and 15:30.
Where do I get tickets?
Tickets are available from the ticket desk when you arrive. We do not sell Hoglands tickets online.
Tickets for a Hoglands tour cost £6.
What to expect
Can I touch the artwork?
Yes, you can touch the outdoor artworks. The sculptures can be more delicate than they look, so please be careful, especially if you are wearing jewellery.
Although the sculptures may look tough, anything sharp like jewellery, watches, belt buckles, or clothing, could scratch or dent the bronze.
Please also be careful not to step, sit or climb on the plinths, as these are part of the artworks.
Thank you for helping us to preserve these works of art for future generations.
Can I bring my dog?
Badged assistance dogs are welcome, but our gardens are unsuitable for pet dogs and other furry friends, so please leave them at home.
Please don’t leave your dog in your car or ask our staff to look after them. Our car parks get very hot on a sunny day. Please see this RSPCA advice for more details.
Can I bring my child’s bicycle, ball or scooter?
To protect the artworks and allow all of our visitors to enjoy their visit, we don’t allow ball games, bicycles, scooters and similar play equipment in the gardens.
What should I wear?
We reccommend wearing sturdy, practical shoes as much of our estate is grassland and can get very muddy, especially in the Sheep Fields.
Can I sketch in the gardens?
By all means, sketch away! Please be considerate of other visitors, and take everything with you when you leave.
Can I take photos?
Yes, you are welcome to take photos for personal use while outside in the gardens, in the studios, exhibition gallery and Aisled Barn. You will not be able to take photographs in Hoglands.
Please make sure that your flash is switched off indoors and be mindful of other visitors when taking pictures. We don’t allow the use of tripods, selfie sticks or drones.
If you wish to take photos for professional or commercial use, including press articles and commercial blogs, you will need to get a license from our Image Library before you visit.
Facilities and access
Are there plenty of toilets in the gardens?
Yes, we have toilet facilities in the Visitor Centre, in the Aisled Barn and near Bourne Maquette Studio in the middle of our grounds.
There are accessible toilets and baby changing facilities in both the Visitor Centre and Aisled Barn.
How accessible are the Studios & Gardens?
Our grounds cover over 60 acres and, though we do have paths and benches, a visit involves quite a lot of walking, sometimes on uneven ground.
Most of the sculpture gardens are grassland and many of our paths are unpaved.
Can I use a mobility scooter?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your mobility scooter. Please make sure that your scooter or wheelchair is suitable for outdoor and unpaved surfaces.
We also have several mobility scooters and wheelchairs available, which you can book for your visit.
