Venue hire

Set in the magnificent Hertfordshire countryside, our seventy acre estate, showcasing Moore’s iconic sculpture, makes us one of the region’s most distinctive event venues.

We can cater to all kinds of events, from weddings to corporate events and commercial filming.

Our venues

Your venue hire includes exclusive use of the Aisled Barn or Dane Tree House event room, and shared use of our gardens and grounds.

Four round tables set up and decorated for a wedding meal, with floral centre pieces. Each place setting has a personalised beer bottle instead of a name card.

Aisled Barn

Our 16th century, traditionally timbered Aisled Barn is decorated with unique Moore tapestries, the perfect backdrop to entertain up to 120 guests.

Dane Tree House

Our contemporary visitor centre offers rooms with stunning, panoramic views over the sculpture gardens, and can accommodate up to 70 guests.

Sculpture gardens

Make the most of our unique venue with a dramatic marquee or tipi in our stunning sculpture gardens.

Weddings

Celebrate your marriage in style with a ceremony, reception or full wedding day in our atmospheric, fully licensed venues.

Ceremonies and receptions

Both venues are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and can be transformed for wedding breakfasts and evening receptions.

Our dedicated wedding coordinator is on hand throughout the preparations and on the day, to ensure you have a wonderful wedding.

 

Photography

After your ceremony, take advantage of Moore’s iconic sculptures and our beautiful gardens for stunning photo opportunities.

 

Catering

From sumptuous afternoon teas to four-course wedding breakfasts, outdoor pizza ovens or hog roasts, our approved caterers will work closely with you to provide the
perfect menu for your day.

Corporate events

Whether it’s a high-level board meeting, team away day, awards celebration, formal sit-down dinner or a drinks reception, we’ve got an ideal venue for you.

Meetings, conferences & presentations

Dane Tree House’s interpretation suite comes fully equipped with a 75” HD LCD screen, complementary Wi-Fi and flip charts. The unparalleled views over the sculpture lawns are sure to inspire your guests. The adjoining café can be used as a breakout area, or for receptions after your event.

 

Drinks receptions & dinners

Whether it’s freshly ground coffee and pastries on arrival, a light buffet lunch or a formal VIP dinner, our approved caterers will work with you to ensure your day runs seamlessly. Our 16th century Aisled Barn decorated with unique tapestries can create a stunning backdrop to any event, and is particularly suited to drinks receptions and dinners.

 

Exclusively yours

From November to March, Henry Moore Studios & Gardens are closed to the public and you will have exclusive use of our events spaces in Dane Tree House or the Aisled Barn.

We can help you plan the perfect event, from birthday parties, anniversary celebrations to a relaxing afternoon tea.

Memorials and celebrations of life

Our peaceful surroundings can provide a beautiful location in which to hold a funeral service, memorial, or celebration of life.

Local services

We are a short walk from St Thomas’s church at Perry Green, and within a 5-minute drive of Much Hadham, perfectly located for events following services at these and other local churches.

 

Further afield

We are only 27 miles north of London and a short drive from the M11 and the A10, making us well-placed to host stand-alone memorial events from further afield.

Commercial filming & photography

With 72 acres of gardens and rolling fields, Henry Moore Studios & Gardens offers a stunning setting for commercial filming and photography.

Location hire

Nestled in rural East Hertfordshire, the estate is surrounded by quintessentially English countryside and period properties, perfect for recreating eras past.

In contrast, our visitor centre is a contemporary and airy space, and is available for your needs throughout the day.

Within the estate we also have the 16th century Aisled Barn and preserved working studios, which can be made available upon request.

 

Location fees

Location fees are determined by the type and complexity of filming or photography. Please get in touch for a quote.

Our location fee includes:

  • Private use of our facilities, including the sculpture grounds, studios and galleries.
  • Access to power – including 30 Amp external power supply – for film lighting and other equipment (cabling to be brought by the crew).
  • Contemporary spaces (with Wi-Fi) for the exclusive use of the crew for hair / make up / lunch etc.
  • Easy level access and free car parking for cars and trucks on or close to the estate.
  • A dedicated member of our staff on hand throughout the hire period.
